Checking on Alabama runners in Boston Marathon

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Raycom News Network is busy checking on the safety of the Alabama runners in Monday's Boston Marathon.

WSFA-TV in Montgomery confirms all of the runners from the Montgomery area safely crossed the line. WBRC-TV in Birmingham and WAFF-TV in Huntsville is in the process of reaching out to the runners from north and central Alabama to confirm their safety. So far, the following Alabama runners have been reported as safe:

The Birmingham Track Club issued the following statement Monday about the explosions:

"The Birmingham Track Club and all its members send thoughts and prayers to every racer, spectator, volunteer and public service official participating in the 2013 Boston Marathon. We continue to monitor the situation as many of our members are in Boston and are contacting family and loved ones to confirm their safety."
