Motorcyclist dies after falling over Monte Sano guardrail

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

One man died Saturday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle and falling over the guardrail while driving up Monte Sano.

Police said Mark Dewayne Askew Jr., 24, lost control of his motorcycle near the edge of the road around 4:30 p.m. When he wrecked the bike, he ultimately fell over the railing, according to an officer on-scene.

Southeast-bound lanes of Governors Drive near Monte Sano Boulevard were closed for two hours while police investigated the wreck.

Askew was a native of Grant.
