LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

On Friday, the farm came to students in Moulton.

Agricultural Initiative Career Day or Ag Day was held at the county fairgrounds and at Lawrence County High next door.

Farmers weren't the only ones teaching the kids. They even had bankers talking about how to get farm loans.

The school district began an advanced agriculture curriculum after being accepted in the state's innovative school system program three years ago.

"It imbeds agriculture into our academics and our instruction. It makes learning more relevant, hopefully more rigorous for our students," said Lawrence County Superintendent Heath Grimes.

Ag Day is a cooperative effort, helping the Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival, which started Friday night, and runs through the weekend at the Lawrence County fairgrounds.
