2 children found in home with meth lab

DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Authorities shut down a meth lab in a home where they found two children inside on County Road 1021 in Dawson in DeKalb County.

Drug agents searched the home and found meth, three one-pot meth labs, pills, syringes, and a large quantity of drug paraphernalia.

They contacted DHR after they found two children in the home.

Investigators arrested James O'Dell Davis, Phillip Aaron Hood, Jody Lavaughn Collins, and Megean Leeann Collins.

All four face drug charges.

    Our news gathering partner at the Decatur Times Daily reports the city of Sheffield in Colbert County is dealing with a staffing shortage in their fire department.  Fire Chief Dewey King, who is also the city's public safety director, says that low wages are contributing to a high turnover rate.
