Sentencing set for those involved in Colbert Co. murder

COLBERT COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

The Colbert County man convicted of killing and dismembering a woman will be sentenced next month.

Ronald Weems told the jury someone else killed Amanda Taylor, but the jury didn't buy the story and convicted Weems of murder and abuse of a corpse.

His sentencing is set for May 16.

Three other suspects in this case pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution and abuse of a corpse.

Ashley Greenhill, Laurel Pruett and Matthew Fox all testified during the trial. They will be sentenced May 7.

    An incarcerated Lawrence County man who walked off a work detail earlier this month has been captured in Colorado.  The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office reportedly took Austen Larry Williams, 28, into custody on Saturday.
