HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The National Weather Service sent out survey teams Friday to examine storm damage and determine if any tornadoes hit North Alabama.

Severe storms on Thursday bent power lines and snapped trees in parts of Huntsville and across Alabama.

The NWS will be surveying portions of South Huntsville. NWS Huntsville is also planning to help the National Weather Service in Birmingham to survey damage that occurred in Winston County between Double Springs and Addison.

If you witnessed or were aware of any storm damage please contact the National Weather Service in Huntsville or your local Emergency Management Agency.
