Tornado Watch ends for some parts of southeast Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch Thursday for all of the Louisiana parishes in the WAFB viewing area, but it expired for some parts before noon.

Meteorologist Steve Caparotta reports the tornado watch has been canceled from Baton Rouge westward. It remains in effect until 3 p.m. for areas to the east.

Here is the list of parishes that remain within the tornado watch area:

Ascension

Assumption

Lafourche

Livingston

St. Helena

St. James

St. John the Baptist

Tangipahoa

Terrebonne

Even where the watch has been canceled, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will continue over the next few hours.

A tornado warning was issued for Tangipahoa Parish after noon. It expired at 12:30 p.m. A severe thunderstorm warning for Tangipahoa Parish expired at 12:45 p.m. One expired for Ascension Parish at noon.
