HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Huntsville Police are on the lookout for an alleged rapist.

A woman claimed she was held at gunpoint and raped off the 4200 block of Patton Road.

"I know it ain't safe to walk out here at night anyway for a female," said Ruby Davidson. "You better stay in the house after dark."

Davidson lives off Patton Road. She wasn't surprised to hear out about a sexual assault in the area.

According to Huntsville Police, the victim reported being held at gunpoint as she was raped around 1 a.m. on Saturday.

"It's a drug area, and it's dangerous," said Davidson.

Huntsville Police are still investigating the sexual assault. A spokesperson for the department said they're having a hard time getting a description because of the way the attack happened.

"It's fairly expected that a person will repeat if they're a perpetrator of a sexual crime," said Monique Brouillette with the Crisis Center of North Alabama.

That fear is why police want to catch the attacker as quickly as possible.

Davidson is keeping her door locked. She warned her neighbors and won't go outside at night anymore.

"After it gets dark at night, I'm in the house," she said.
