HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The National Children's Advocacy Center received a large check, literally and figuratively on Friday, thanks to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

The Space and Rocket Center recently beat out 30 other local businesses to win the third annual Huntsville's Brightest Company Charitable Trivia Competition. The Space and Rocket Center competed on behalf of the NCAC.

The event was sponsored by the group Impact Alabama, which presented that check to the advocacy center on Friday.

"This is huge for the NCAC. Not often do we get a $10,000 donation. Not only is it a $10, 000 donation, but someone in our community playing on our behalf, really on behalf of the kids we serve, to make sure they're going to get the services they need. There's a lot of kids who are going to benefit from this," said Chris Newlin, NCAC Executive Director.

Similar events were held in Birmingham and Mobile, raising $30,000 for Alabama charities.
