CULLMAN, AL (WAFF) - Every band playing in clubs and bars hopes to get their big break some day, and jam in front of thousands of people.
For one local band, that dream may be about to come true.
Five north Alabama bands are among seven in the running to join the "Rock the South" lineup this June. The festival is set for June 21st and 22nd at Heritage Park in Cullman. Huge stars like Sara Evans (also an event organizer), Hank Williams Jr., Gregg Allman and The Band Perry are slated to perform.
Now, the festival is giving one undiscovered group a chance to join the line-up. Fans on the "Rock the South" Facebook page are voting for their favorites right now. Five of the seven groups are from north Alabama :
Blake Scott Band (Cullman)
Coal Rain (Cullman)
Valley Roots (Shoals)
Vintage Cowboys (Cullman)
Whiskey River Kings (Huntsville)
