GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - When you've worked hard in school like Senior Jennifer Jenkins from Brindlee Mountain High School in Guntersville, your entitled to speak your mind.
"I've got two more months and I'm just like woo, I'm ready to get out of here and get on with my life," laughs Jennifer as she prepares to finish up her final year of high school.
Jennifer is this weeks Star Student. She is a down to earth student respected by peers and teachers who credits her parents to keeping her on the right track.
"When I'd get upset or discouraged because of like a bad grade or something, they'd be like, 'Come on you know you can do it you've worked so hard through elementary and middle school through your high school years just make it the best you can,'" says Jennifer.
But she admits it wasn't an easy journey to accomplishing the success she's made of her high school career.
"During this stage you have a lot of peer pressure, so you have to totally get away from those people that want to intimidate you and make you do things that you don't want to do," she advises.
Jennifer is involved in several clubs and the track team. Her future plans include going off to college and fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse.
