HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Fillis McGhee spoke to WAFF 48 News for the first time since her ex-husband was murdered in front of his house.

Earlier this week, Primerica Life Insurance Company filed a lawsuit stopping them from paying Fillis a $432,000 life insurance claim her ex-husband took out before the couple divorced.

"I don't feel like it is appropriate at this time to talk to the media," Fillis said on the phone. "We're still trying to heal as a family."

Legal documents show Primerica Life Insurance Company will not pay out Alonzo McGhee's claim to his ex-wife because she has not been ruled out as a suspect in his murder.

Huntsville Police said they have not ruled anyone out as a suspect at this time, and they continue to conduct interviews with anyone that was a part of Alonzo McGhee's life.

Alonzo McGhee was fatally shot in front of his Owens Cross Roads home on January 4, 2013.

He divorced Fillis on December 28, 2012.

The couple had three children.
