The moving phase is all but finished for the new Hartselle High School. Monday, the move-in begins.
Students and staff in Hartselle will now reap the benefits of their hard work because they have been doing all of the work to get the new high school ready for classes Monday morning.
They put some finishing touches on the school on Friday.
Monday morning, students report to the gym, which can hold a capacity crowd of 1600 people. Roughly the same capacity can sit in the auditorium.
They will only have eight weeks in the facility before summer break. The reason they are moving now is because 7th and 8th graders will move into the old Hartselle High in August, and workers need time to get that building in shape by then.
The principal said the move is somewhat bittersweet. There is a lot of history in that old building, but he said the teachers and students are really excited to start the first day of classes at the new Hartselle High School.
