An Autauga County church is reaching out to help the family of the boy killed at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.  Members of Boone's Chapel Baptist Church plan to deliver meals and snacks to the family on Wednesday.

The church knows about tragedy first hand. Its sanctuary was destroyed by a tornado in 2011. Three people were killed nearby.

Tammy Klimek says she moved to lead the effort after watching news reports about 10 year old Luke Bresette. He died when a sign at the terminal fell on him and his family. His mother remains hospitalized.

"You don't have to know someone to love them," Klimek said. "When you have Christ in you, you show your love towards them regardless of the situation."

Kilmek said the meal will include a Boston Butt and they also plan to bring baskets with snacks, so the family doesn't have to use vending machines.

Kilmek said she spoke with the family on Tuesday, and said they were touched by the gesture.
