MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
A wild scene outside the Madison Hospital emergency room on Sunday afternoon lands one man in jail.

According to investigators, 30 year old Aaron Mayes was standing outside the ER, harassing a man in the parking lot. Hospital security told police that Mayes pulled another man from his car, and claimed to be an undercover police officer. Mayes reportedly pulled items from the man's pockets and pinned him on the ground.

Madison Police officers arrived a few minutes later, to see Mayes still holding the man down. Mayes told them he was an undercover officer, which they quickly disproved. Mayes was arrested on the spot, charged with impersonating a police officer, unlawful imprisonment (for pinning the man down), and robbery (for taking items out of the man's pockets).

Investigators say Mayes and the victim knew each other, but it's not clear why he was reportedly pretending to be a law enforcement officer.
