HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A group of motorcycle bikers will make at least four stops in the Tennessee Valley this Saturday to raise money for troops overseas.

Michael Malone and dozens of riders will go on a dice run not only for fun but to help raise funds for soldiers deployed in Afghanistan.

Malone said the dice run will resemble the traditional poker run.

"You register, you get a form, you ride to different stops. At each stop you roll a die, you write it down on your little form. At the end, somebody's the winner," Malone said.

But there's another goal. What amount of cash the riders win will be donated to Kari Nabors.

Six months ago, Nabors raised money to buy care packages for her husband and other troops deployed in Afghanistan.

Her husband, Sergeant Tyler Nabors, is deployed with the Charlie Company in the 1-167th Infantry Battalion based in Cullman.

Nabors is now raising funds to send more packages and plan a homecoming party later this summer.

"You can't help but appreciate the hard work that these guys do," Malone said.

Nabors' friends are now helping her raise the money by giving their dice run winnings to the cause.

They'll make four stops during the run, starting with the Sports Page bar in south Huntsville.

"[Then] we go to Carson's in Hampton Cove, to somewhere by the lake in Guntersville, to Crossroads in Arab, and back here," Nabors said.

That evening, a concert and raffle prizes will be held at the Sports Page.

"One thing that I'll say about the biker community is that they're very charity-oriented," Malone said.

The troops they're helping will know it too.

"I've had several of them tell me that leaving is hard, but knowing that someone is thinking about them and praying for them, and wanting for their safe return; it makes it a million times easier for them," Nabors said.
