BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -
According to the Alabama Red Cross, 437 homes were damaged to some degree during Monday's storms.
Ninety-five percent of the non-profit's damage assessment has been completed. The reports indicated that:
-69 homes were destroyed
-120 homes had major damage
-248 homes had minor damage
As of Wednesday, March 20 all Red Cross shelter across the state have been closed but are on stanby to be re-opened if the need arises, especially as cold weather moves into the state Thursday evening.
More than forty Red Cross Volunteers have worked to provide relief to affected homeowners.
