HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A Huntsville methadone treatment center will pay close to $100,000 for bad record keeping.
Drug Enforcement Administration officials found the Huntsville Metro Treatment Center did not maintain complete and accurate records and inventories of controlled substances dispensed or received. That's a violation of the Controlled Substance Act.
Officials with the center say it was unintentional but have agreed to pay $95,000.
The DEA reports this is the largest penalty ever collected in Alabama for a drug diversion investigation.
