HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A taste of Eastern Europe made its way to the campus of University of Alabama-Huntsville Saturday.
Several people came out to the Maslenitsa Pancake Festival sponsored by the International Society of Huntsville group. People were able to sample European desserts and others foods.
The festivities also included folk dance performances and children's activities like balloon art and hair braiding.
"It's for people who want to try something different, it's for people from big cities who want to go to festivals there, it's for people who are originally from these countries and are here to celebrate, they're glad they're in America, they're glad they're in Huntsville and they want to share kids the opportunities, you know hair braiding what have you," said Jim Zielinski, International Society of Huntsville.
The event was held at the UAH M. Louis Salmon Library.
