A pedestrian is struck and killed by a train in Jefferson County.
Chief Deputy Randy Christian says CSX Railroad called to report one of their trains hit a pedestrian near the crossing at Morris Majestic Road at 9:30 p.m. Friday.
After a search, authorities located a man along the tracks about 150 yards south of Happy Top Road.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The pedestrian has not been identified.
The incident is still under investigation this morning.
