A prescribed burn on Redstone Arsenal is causing heavy smoke in the area.

The heaviest smoke is in South Huntsville between Hobbs Road and Weatherly Road.

Smoke has been reported as far away as Woodville.

A prescribed burn is the process of burning an area of land in order to kill certain plant species to favor the growth of others.
