DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Two people were arrested on drug charges after investigators searched a residence near Rainsville.

Deputies arrested Sheldon Robert Williams, 36 of Fort Payne, and Leah Heather Harper, 37 of Mentone, after deputies found drug paraphernalia and a meth lab in the residence.

Agents said Williams had meth on his person. He was out on bond for two previous manufacturing and possession charges.

Williams was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to comply for possession of a controlled substance.

Harper was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Williams and Harper were transported to DeKalb County Detention Center where they are currently being held.

"I'm glad to have Sheldon off the street again. This is a continuing problem with him. I hope we can keep him this time until he goes to court," said Sheriff Jimmy Harris.
