Aug. 12 - A former minister is in jail after he admits to killing his wife and trying to take his own life.

It happened in the David Temple community of Lawrence County just north of Hillsboro.

Lawrence County sheriffs deputies arrived at the couple's home Wednesday morning and they found 73-year old Molly Shackleford stabbed to death insider her bedroom.

The couple's daughter says her father confessed to the murder.

Those who attended the couple's church try to cope with the tragedy.

Rev. Curtis Foster, David Temple PB Church said, "The whole congregation...they loved this family. They loved them dearly and it's something that will have to work with through prayer."

William Shackleford is in jail without bond. He's been officially charged with murder.
