JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
Two people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Henagar.
Deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 40 in Henagar for a traffic violation. After searching the vehicle investigators found cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, and other drug paraphernalia.
Deputies arrested James Paul Morgan, 51
of Henagar, and
a woman who identified herself as Diane Morgan, that investigators later determined to actually be Amy
Lynn McCoullough, 49 of Henagar.
McCoullough signed several documents at the jail using the fake name she gave authorities, which was the name of Morgan's deceased wife.
After determining her true identity, McCoullough was charged with obstruction of justice by use of a false name and forgery in the 2nd degree along with possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of controlled substances, possession of prescribed prescription medications. McCoullough is in the Jackson County Jail on $51,000 bond.
Morgan was charged with possession of marijuana, Unlawful
Possession of Controlled Substances, and Possession of Un-Prescribed Prescription Medications. Morgan was
later released on $17,500 bond.
