FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -

Officials at the University of North Alabama are preparing to talk safety at an open forum set to begin Wednesday night at 8 p.m.

The meeting comes on the heels of a recent sexual attack on campus.

University officials not only want to address safety concerns, but they want to encourage students to take a stand against violence.

Vice President of Student Affairs, David Shields, sent out a campus wide letter addressing last week's investigation into a rape on campus. In that letter, he reaffirmed his commitment and that of the staff to provide a safe and secure environment for all members of UNA.

He said after last week's incident, they are reviewing all campus policies and look forward to hearing input from not just students and staff, but community members as well.

The meeting is set for 8 p.m. on campus in Towers Hall.
