ZACHARY, LA (WAFB) -
A
27-year-old man died after the car he was driving hit a utility pole and
flipped Wednesday morning.
The East
Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said Zachary Mounce of Zachary was
pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash
happened on East Flonacher Road in Zachary around 6:30 a.m.
Deputies
reported Mounce was headed westbound when the car went off the road, hit the
pole and flipped. The impact of the crash split the pole.
Investigators
believe speed was a factor in the accident.
They sent a
sample of Mounce's blood to a lab and are awaiting the toxicology results.
The crash
remains under investigation.
