MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
School officials released a map of rezoning proposals for elementary schools in the city of Madison Wednesday.
School officials said this is a proposed map and parents will be able to give feedback before a final decision is made.
The map details new zoning possibilities for Madison's seven elementary schools in the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.
School officials said rezoning keeps schools from overcrowding, and would also delay the need for more construction.
Parents will have time to review the map then voice any concerns at a community meeting next week. That meeting is scheduled at James Clemens High School next Thursday.
This is still a work in progress. The school board will gather feedback and plan to vote on it in April.
