WASHINGTON, D.C. (WAFF) -
President Obama will sit down with Congressman Mo Brooks and other House Republicans Wednesday as the battle over a balanced budget continues.
Just one day after talking with Senate Democrats, President Obama will meet with House Republicans to see if the two sides can come to some type of agreement on a spending plan.
Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks will be a part of those talks on Capitol Hill.
Senate Democrats are also expected to offer up their own budget. Their plan creates about a trillion dollars in revenue by closing tax loopholes but does not make any changes to medicare.
Republicans have already presented a spending plan, but Democrats shot it down. That budget would cut the nation's deficit by five trillion dollars, in part by repealing Obama's healthcare law and by changing medicare for those under the age of 54.
President Obama's meeting with Republicans is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
