Rickey JeffersonLSU football signee Rickey Jefferson, the younger brother of former Tigers quarterback Jordan Jefferson, was arrested in Metairie last month.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's office arrested the younger brother of former quarterback Jordan Jefferson on February 2 and charged him with resisting arrest by violence, just four days before he signed a letter of intent to play for LSU.
The detective was trying to arrest another teenager at a Mardi Gras parade in early February. The charges were first reported by WVUE in New Orleans on Tuesday night.
Another teen, identified as Joe Sharp, is also accused of punching the detective as he was trying to handcuff a third teen, identified as David Sampson.
The three teens allegedly interrupted the detective's attempt to take a fourth unnamed teen into custody.
LSU coach Les Miles says he had no information on the arrest of Destrehan signee Rickey Jefferson before the news broke last night.
At Wednesday's news conference to preview spring practice, Miles said "we'll have to trail behind and find out what's going on, but I'm really without information at this point."
