Nine years playing indoor football and he hasn't lost a step. Albany Panthers quarterback Cecil Lester added another award to his trophy case.
Lester has been named the PIFL Player of the Week following his five touchdown performance in Albany's season opener against Louisiana. Lester thought about retiring after the past two seasons but a special off season regiment seems to keep him fresh.
"I just tried to not do anything. I had a different focus this off season, a different goal. To come back and play that well was just a testament to God. I pray a lot and I stay prayed up so that was nothing new in his eyes," said Lester.
The Panthers will battle Columbus in their home opener Saturday 7:30 at the Civic Center.
