FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A Lauderdale County judge will hear arguments concerning the request for a sexual assault suspect's DNA.
Mitchell Blake Terry is accused of breaking into apartments and sexually assaulting one of the victims. The break-ins happened near the University of North Alabama Campus.
Terry faces charges including sexual assault, burglary, theft, and fraudulent use of a debit or credit card.
Prosecutors want a sample of Terry's DNA to compare against evidence at the state forensics lab.
State investigators already notified the District Attorney of a DNA match. When Terry was arrested, his DNA was entered into a database. Scientists said evidence submitted to the state lab matched that DNA.
If the judge grants the request for a DNA sample, prosecutors will have the match confirmed.
Terry is scheduled to go to trial April 15.
The hearing for the DNA motion is March 19 at the Lauderdale County Courthouse in Florence.
