DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
The northbound lanes of Interstate 59 in DeKalb County were shut down following a wreck involving a chicken truck.
The truck overturned near mile marker 239 in Ider early Monday morning. Chickens spilled onto the road and the median, most of them did not survive.
The truck is operated by Koch Foods out of Chattanooga. The company was not able to provide additional information.
Witnesses on the scene said the driver of the truck appeared to be ok.
State Troopers are investigating. The interstate reopened by 2 p.m. Monday.
