NEW ORLEANS, LA (WWL-TV) -
WWLTV reports a man who escaped the Orleans Parish Prison was found at a Baton Rouge hotel.
According to the news station, Sheriff Marlin Gusman said Mitchell Manning, 40, was discovered missing over the weekend after authorities noticed a tent that houses inmates was damaged. Manning was found at the hotel Sunday.
The report stated Tawaina White, 30, was also arrested. She is charged with assisting in a simple escape. Investigators believe she gave Manning money and a cell phone.
Manning was in prison on the following charges:
Domestic abuse battery
Home invasion
Simple criminal damage to property
Possession of marijuana
Possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine
The report did not give the name of the hotel where Manning was found.
