4th Annual Hair and Fashion Show in Guntersville

GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

The fourth annual Hair and Fashion Show got underway Saturday night at the Guntersville Town Hall.

The event was put on by the Cosmetology department of the Marshall County Technical School.

Over 500 people attended the event, as students played the role of fashion designer, makeup artist, and hair stylist for their models.

The theme of the fashion show consisted of four categories: earth, wind, fire and water.

Teachers said the show is meant to help students prepare for the real world.

"It helps them to step out of the box, be creative, learn different aspects of the industry... whether it's fashion photography, beauty, makeup, hair. This builds their portfolio, which definitely makes them more marketable," said cosmetology teacher, Laura Thompson.

The winners of Saturday night's show were from the earth category. "Caught in the Muck" was the name of their design.
