Cullman County, AL (WAFF) -

The teens accused of stealing, torturing, and killing a baby goat went before a judge on Thursday.

What happened during that hearing is unknown because the four boys charged are all juveniles, so the hearing was closed, and the results are confidential.

In fact, District Attorney Wilson Blaylock would not confirm whether the hearing took place. However, he does say there is a lot reaction surrounding the case, coming from here and beyond.

Four boys, all 14 or 15 years old, are accused of stealing a neighbor's goat in the West Point area of Cullman County, torturing it, dropping it off of a bridge, and video recording the whole thing.

Blaylock said the case is getting a lot of attention.

"We've received a number of phone calls and emails regarding this particular case. We're getting a lot out of the county, state wide, and even out of the state," he said.

In Cullman, people are appalled about what the teens are accused of doing.

"I think they should be punished severely. And maybe that will make them think when they become an adult. Admit what they done, and then just go from there. Something has to be done," said Cullman resident, Pat Ponder.

A parent said on Thursday that the video of the crime was seen by younger students at West Point Middle School.

Investigators said students at West Point High School, where these boys go to school, are the ones who alerted authorities.
