HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A summary judgement hearing for the parties involved in a lawsuit filed following a fatal chase is scheduled for April 12 at the Madison County Courthouse.
Darren Spurlock died in a crash on Redstone Arsenal in May 2008. His vehicle was hit by a car driven by Valerie Cox.
Cox was fleeing from law enforcement and ran through the Arsenal gates.
Cox pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder. She is currently in Tutwiler Prison.
Spurlock's widow, Kelly, filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Huntsville and the agencies involved in the chase.
Several defendants filed a motion for a summary judgement, asking the court to rule on this case.
