MADISON, AL (WAFF) -
Parks are where we go to relax, have fun, spend some quality time together, but sometimes the "real world" creeps into that setting, and that includes crime.
In this case, the crime was committed against the park.
The peace and serenity surrounding Shelton Park in Madison was broken by someone December 5, 2012. Someone spray painted vulgar language and gang symbols all over the park.
Even though city officials have since painted over some of the graffiti, some of the markings can still be seen.
The word "flyers" was spray painted on several swings, benches and fences.
No arrests have been made in this case of a senseless crime.
It is criminal mischief, and police need your help tracking down the criminal or criminals.
