SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -
Sheffield Police arrested one person in connection to a fatal home invasion in Muscle Shoals. While police are still searching for the final murder suspect, a second man turned himself in late Tuesday evening.
Police said Donte Montgomery surrendered himself to police late Tuesday night.
Fernando King, the final suspect, is still wanted for murder in last month's shooting death of Dorian Hamilton.
"It's a lose-lose situation no matter how you look at it; we are fortunate that we're able to get some closure for the victim and the family," Sheffield Police Chief Greg Ray said.
Police have charged Damien Shipley, 22, with capital murder in the shooting. He's being held at the Colbert County Detention Center.
After the
shooting, police say they found a bag containing ski masks near the suspects'
home. Investigators also report finding a gun behind a shed in the same area.
Investigators believe the shooting originally stemmed from a drug robbery.
