HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A home in North Huntsville home was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon.
It started around 1 p.m. during the height of a thunderstorm at a home on Liberty Hill Road.
Several units with the Huntsville Fire Department responded to the scene. No one was injured in the fire and no one was at home when it started.
Crews on scene believe the fire was caused by lightning. High winds made it difficult for crews to fight the fire.
Red Cross has been called to assist.
