HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
The family of a mother and two children injured in an explosion at a Huntsville apartment filed a civil action against Huntsville Utilities and the Huntsville Housing Authority.
Cheri Kent and her two children were in the apartment in Lincoln Park when it exploded on January 15.
The civil action, filed by Kent's mother, states Cheri Kent is incapacitated. She's currently at a hospital in Birmingham.
The civil action seeks to answer questions including:
What caused the explosion?
Did the gas delivery system fail?
Did any unknown party provide parts or services that contributed to the explosion?
The action also requests records of gas leaks in the area.
