SELMA, AL (WSFA) -
Selma police are searching for the suspect they believe is responsible for a homicide Sunday evening.
Investigators were called to the Beech Creek Apartments in reference to someone being shot in the area. When officers arrived, they found the victim, unidentified, in the roadway next to the driver side of a vehicle. The victim had been shot in the chest.
Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Selma Police Chief William T. Riley III says an investigation and interviews have led to the identification of a suspect. Joshua McClendon, 20, is wanted on a murder warrant.
McClendon is considered armed and dangerous.
