SHEFFIELD, AL (WAFF) -
Sheffield Police arrested a suspect in a couple of apartment break-ins. Investigators said they caught him as he was leaving the building.
While they questioned him, they found a gun hidden underneath his clothes.
Marcus Lamont Carroll is charged with two counts of first degree burglary and possession of a pistol by a violent felon.
Investigators believe Carroll entered the Montgomery block apartment building looking for unlocked doors.
They said Carroll gained access to two different apartments. Each time, the person who lived there was home and caught him in the act.
No items have been reported stolen.
Investigators said this isn't Carroll's first run-in with the law.
He was out on probation for third degree burglary in Madison County.
Carroll is currently being held without bond, and additional charges are pending.
