ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
A former Albertville City Councilman is on his way to recovering after being hit by a truck while jogging.
Chuck Ellis was hit by a truck while he was jogging in Albertville on November 28th.
Ellis is a state trooper, a former Albertville City Councilman and military veteran, who served in Iraq. He knows danger, and said he thought he was going to die. But his remarkable recovery continues.
Ellis had a major milestone Thursday when he walked out of physical therapy on his own for the first time.
Ellis still has to undergo surgery on his shoulder, but said his goal is to be back on the job as a state trooper June 1st.
