FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
The case against a woman accused of sexual abuse and child pornography will go to a Lauderdale County grand jury.
Patricia Ayers, and her husband Matthew, face charges including child pornography, sexual abuse, sodomy and rape.
Investigators said the crimes happened in Lauderdale County but were discovered when pictures were sent to a man in Madison County.
Court documents state a Lauderdale County Sheriff's investigator confiscated thumb drives, computers, CD/DVD's, and cell phones from the Ayers home on County Road 298.
Investigators say some of that equipment had numerous pictures of a small child being molested. The investigator says Matthew Ayers was the individual performing sexual acts on the young girl.
Both Patricia and Matthew Ayers have bond set at $1-million.
Patricia Ayers waived her preliminary hearing Friday. The case against Matthew Ayers will also go before a grand jury.
