FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) -
A partnership combining creativity and educational experience is helping to put small businesses on the map.
Made in the Shoals selects one small, locally owned business each month and then creates a short digital story featuring their products and company history.
The project is the brainchild of local filmmaker Wes Wages and several professional artists in the shoals. The group is assisted by UNA film students to give them real world experience in their field.
Last month the group featured River Town Coffee Shop, and this month it's No'Ala Magazine.
"This is a good time to show off the community we live in because there are a lot of passionate people about this area we love it," said Wages. "There's a lot of creators here, it's an idea factory and we can team together come up with ideas."
