HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -
Huntsville Fire Chief, Michael Sublett, announced his retirement Thursday.
Sublett started as a firefighter in 1975 under Mayor Joe Davis.
Mayor Tommy Battle promoted Sublett to interim fire chief in 2009.
Deputy Chief Howard McFarlen will serve as interim fire chief until a new chief is hired.
