HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A Huntsville attorney claims the Madison County Jail isn't treating his client properly.

Jovontai Dickerson faces a murder charge. He's been in jail for less than a month.

In a motion, his attorney claims the jail is not giving him medication for schizophrenia.

He said his client had a violent encounter with another inmate and his medication would control his psychotic episodes. The jail's Chief Deputy, Keith Morrison, said this claim is untrue.

Morrison said Dickerson has seen the mental clinic doctor several times and is set to see a psychiatrist, who can administer medication if needed.

Jovantai Dickerson and his twin sister, Jovonta, are both accused of killing Jarrod Lockett on December 4th in the parking lot of Madison Garden Apartments in Huntsville.
