JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
A jury convicted a man of a misdemeanor in the death of another man while racing.
A Jackson County jury found Franklin Mullens guilty of reckless driving.
He was charged with manslaughter but was found guilty of wreckless driving.
"My heart truly goes out to
everyone involved and the families that have been impacted by this," said Mullens.
Mullens and Dewayne Pittman were racing on Highway 79 when Pittman lost control and struck Thomas Frazier.
They both died.
A sentencing date has not been set.
