LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -
An attempted burglar got a surprise after he broke into a Lauderdale County home. The woman inside had a gun.
Deputies charged Carlos Wayne Webster with second degree burglary. Investigators said the woman was inside a home on County Road 9 helping her son move. when she heard someone kick in the door.
Investigators said Webster entered the home and he wouldn't leave so the woman pulled her gun on him. Webster took off but was later picked up by deputies.
"He said he was walking and noticed a truck at the house and he stuck his head in the back door to see what was going on, but he had actually kicked the back door in and went in on her," said Clifford Whitten with the Sheriff's Department.
Webster was released from jail on bond. Investigators said additional charges are pending.
