Alabama director of strength and conditioning Scott Cochran served as host and emcee of Wednesday afternoon's media tour of the Crimson Tide's new $9 million weight room.

The new 37,000-square-foot weight room serves not only the back-to-back National Championship football team but all Alabama sports teams. The new complex links the Crimson Tide's Mal Moore Athletic Facility with the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.

One of the largest venues of its kind in the country, the new weight room features windows from floor to ceiling that look out on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

The new weight room features a state-of-the-art performance nutrition center to fuel Alabama student-athletes, physicians' offices and strength and conditioning offices. The weight room also houses an elaborate and loud sound system to help motivate athletes during training.

The new weight room has 21,000-square feet on the first level and 16,000-square feet on the second level. The ground level consists of the weight room that is highlighted by 20 combination racks that feature platforms that are built into the ground for a level surface that provides a safer workout environment.

Alabama is also scheduled to take delivery of a brand new dumbbell station on Thursday that is the best of its kind. The bottom floor of the new weight room also features four garage doors that connect the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. The upper level of the weight room features a cardio station, medicine balls and more office space.
